The Tuskegee History Center operates on a seasonal basis. For the most up-to-date hours of operation, please check our website regularly. While there is no charge to explore our exhibits and learn about the rich history of Tuskegee, Alabama, donations are greatly appreciated. Your generous contributions help us maintain and enhance our programs, exhibits, and educational outreach.

On-site parking is available and free to museum visitors, including motorcoaches and RVs.

Directions to the Tuskegee History Center

Inside the Tuskegee city limits, travel to the downtown area, following directions from either North Main Street, South Main Street, Highway 80 or US-29:

  1. Take AL-81 S/Notasulga Rd and N Main St to S Elm St in Tuskegee
  2. Continue on S Elm St to Tuskegee History Center/Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center
  3. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto S Elm St
  4.  Turn right
  5.  Tuskegee History Center/Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center will be on the right
  1. Head northwest on S Main St towards the downtown Square
  2. Turn left onto W Oak St
  3. Turn right onto S Elm St
  4. Turn left
  5. Tuskegee History Center/Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center will be on the right
  1. Head northeast on US-80 E toward S Jericho St
  2. Pass by AutoZone Auto Parts (on the right)
  3. Turn right onto S Elm St
  4. Turn right

Tuskegee History Center/Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center will be on the right

  1. Head southwest on US-29 S/US-80 W toward S Lake St
  2.  Continue to follow US-80 W
  3.  Turn left onto S Elm St
  4. Turn right
  5. Tuskegee History Center/Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center will be on the right

The Tuskegee History Center shares stories of Tuskegee’s remarkable history, along with the multicultural history of Macon County’s three distinct cultures and peoples.
