Our Story

Who we are

Standing as a permanent memorial to the men of the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, the Tuskegee History Center exists to preserve, present and promote the history of Tuskegee and Macon County, Alabama. The mission of our non-profit organization includes presenting the human and civil rights history of the three cultural groups that helped to develop Macon County – Native Americans, European Americans, and African Americans. Thus the original name – Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center.
